Happy to have you here!
I'm a self-taught programmer who has lived in Japan for
roughly 10 years. I've taken many paths throughout my
entire adulthood, but I've gotten the most satisfaction from
making programs people enjoy and find useful. Please
endulge me while I tell you more about myself.

1980s~

Born and raised in Nebraska, USA.

Learned command prompt at the age of 5.

Started wrestling at the age of 6 and continued until highschool.

Made my first program on a TI-83 calculator.

Started learning Japanese at the age of 18.

Graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha with a degree in international studies. During this time, I studied Japanese for a year at Shizuoka University in Shizuoka city, Japan.

2008~

　First full time job in a food company's international division.

Moved to Japan to teach English on the JET program. This was a wonderful, unforgettable experience that made me grow in ways I didn't expect. From the students, to the adminstrators of the program, everyone was a pleasure. While I enjoyed this work, it never brought me the satisfaction I sought.

Passed the N1 Japanese proficency exam.

Travelled by motorcycle and camped all around the main island of Japan.

August 2020~

Started teaching myself the Tsugaru Shamisen.

Decided to change my career to programming, something which I've always had an interest. So I moved back to the states and taught myself C#/Xamarin, Ruby/Ruby on Rails, HTML/CSS/Javascript and others.
